This maximalist Paris apartment is an antidote to minimalism

Minimalism is out at this Paris apartment, which is packed to the gills with lavish detail and layered patterns.

The one-bedroom Le Marais home dates back to the 17th century and is located on Rue Quincampoix, one of the city’s oldest streets. Patterned rugs, sculptures and artworks can be found in every corner, with Italian Renaissance paintings peering down over intricately carved chairs and tables.

The Paris holiday home is available to rent via onefinestay from $655 per night, and beneath its adornments are original features. A carved stone fireplace features in the sitting room and guests can dine beneath a huge ceiling mural or admire the owner’s collection of antique treasures.

Even the bathrooms live up to the apartment’s maximalist spirit, decked out in brown veined marble.
