Stay the night then buy the furniture at this upcoming Milan hotel

Guests that their stay at Milan’s upcoming Sister Hotel can take a bit of it home with them in the form of furniture and artworks – all of which are for sale.

The ‘shoppable hotel’ is the brainchild of Six Gallery founder Mauro Orlandelli and art director Samuele Savio and is located in the same 16th-century monastery that houses the gallery.

Sister Hotel is set to welcome guests in September, however, a single room was on display at Milan Design Week earlier this month, offering a tantalising glimpse of things to come. Designed by David Lopez-Quincoces and Fanny Bauer Grung of studio Quincoces-Drago and inspired by the French hôtel particulier, it features dark walls, parquet floors, and a mix of classic and contemporary furniture.

There will be nine rooms on offer, each of which will have its own identity that draws on Six Gallery’s reputation for curating an eclectic mix of design. Visitors will also be able to dine at the monastery, in new restaurant Bistrot Sixième.
