Property of the week: a restored finca in Ibiza

Old meets new in this six-bedroom home

This centuries-old finca has been transformed into a contemporary villa on the island of Ibiza.

Belgian developer-owner Francisco Dimmers enlisted architect Amélia Molina to turn the crumbling farmhouse near Santa Eulalia into a contemporary six-bedroom home.

The original structure was stripped bare and stone walls and wooden beamed ceilings were rebuilt using traditional techniques.

Floor-to-ceiling windows and skylights have been added to maximise the feeling of space and frame the seaside views, while state-of-the-art technologies have been incorporated into the fabric of the building, including an entertainment system.

Some of the bedrooms are housed inside the former stables, while others are in the building’s new addition.

Previously available as a holiday rental, it’s now on the market via Sotheby’s for €5.35m.
