Kitzbühel Chalet offers alpine minimalism on the outskirts of the forest

The Tyrol retreats brings modernism to the mountains

Located at the foot of the Kitzbühel Alps, in Austria, this modernist chalet is a peaceful retreat from the slopes.

Not a single stick of furniture is out of place at the holiday rental, which is sandwiched between forest and mountain in Austria’s Tyrol region.

Its owner worked with design studio Holzrausch on the home’s neatly arranged interiors, which emphasise natural materials such as wood and stone. Banks of windows put the emphasis on the view over the nearby Alps, which can be admired from the home’s wraparound balcony.

There are three bedrooms in total – however the chalet’s wood-panelled reading nook stores two extra beds if needed – as well as a home cinema, and a spa with a sauna. The chalet is ten minutes drive from the ski lifts, and it’s on the doorstep of a network of hiking and cycling trails, for when the weather’s milder.

Kitzbühel Chalet starts at €1,500 a night via Welcome Beyond.
