A former folly is on sale for £1.795m in Wales

Back in the 1700s, Kemeys Folly hosted hunting parties. More recently however the Grade II listed building has been turned into a six-bedroom family home, complete with a shiny new glass extension.

Channel 4 series Grand Designs featured the building back in 2009, when owners Dean and Sarah Berry restored the crumbling building. They added a modern wing, using contemporary materials that contrast with the traditional stonework of the tower.

The original building now houses three bedrooms and a family cinema room, while the new addition holds three further bedrooms and open-plan living spaces.

As well as the house – on the market for £1.795m via Chewton Rose – buyers will also get 23 acres of land and a Pool House to boot.
