Architect Andreas Wenning is a veteran in the world of treehouse architecture, having designed them all across the globe. His Urban Treehouse – completed in 2014 – comprises a pair of four-metre-high cabins on the edge of Grunewald forest, just west of Berlin.

Soho House Berlin lofts, Mitte
Soho House opened its Berlin outpost in 2010, taking over a disused Bauhaus building in the city’s Mitte district. The Grade II-listed structure was originally a Jewish department store, later, an archive for the communist party following WWII. After decades of dereliction, it’s now been completely restored, crowned by loft apartments which look out over the city. Each loft comes with its own 100 record-strong vinyl library and vintage furniture.
