DOX Contemporary Art Centre-founder Leoš Válka designed this art-filled loft in Prague, which sits within the city’s New Town.

The 421 sqm penthouse occupies the top two floors of a 19th-century building and is capped by a glazed roof that floods its double-height living room with light. Válka has treated the four-bedroom bolthole like a gallery, hanging its white walls and ceilings with artworks including a twisting glass chandelier by Czech designer Bořek Šípek and furniture by Minotti.

A pair of bronze pumas by sculptor Michal Gabriel survey the living room from the top of the wooden floating staircase. It leads to master-bedroom and rooftop terrace with panoramic views across Prague’s spires and castle.

Two more bedrooms can be found on the lower level of the apartment, on the market via Czech Republic Sotheby’s International Realty (price on application). It also holds a kitchen, an enclosed balcony and a winter garden.

You can try the Prague property before you buy – the four-bedroom apartment is available to rent on Airbnb from €467 per night.
