Vancouver’s Tacofino Ocho serves margaritas in an industrial jungle

Celebrating its factory setting

Dragon trees enliven the metal and concrete confines of Vancouver restaurant Tacofino Ocho, which celebrates its industrial past.

Local studio September oversaw the Mexican eatery’s interiors, complimenting the former factory’s concrete walls and columns with suspended metal cages and tubular steel furniture in greens and yellows.

There are equal parts industry and polish inside the Mexican restaurant, with textured grey tiles covering walls and seating areas, which sit beneath minimal, linear light fittings. Parts of the space have been left purposefully unfinished, as a nod to Tacofino Ocho’s utilitarian atmosphere.

Located in the city’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, the Vancouver restaurant serves up the requisite tacos and burritos as well as a range of margaritas and tropical infused classic cocktails.
