Designed for the 911 series, Porsche’s Tequipment Roof Tent pops open to transform the top of a car into a two-person ‘room with a view’.

The manufacturer likens the accessory – one in an extensive list of Porsche-designed add-ons – to a ‘hotel room for nature-lovers’, thanks to its skylight and pair of side windows.

Folded into a hardcover, the pop-up tent includes a polyfoam mattress, quilted lining and water-resistant zips. Mosquito nets cover the windows, which also have blackout screens for long lie-ins. Assembly is quick, with the tent unfolded and secured using four poles and reached using an integrated telescopic ladder.

The roof tent can be fitted to any of Porsche’s 911 series and supports up to 190kg, depending on the model. It hits the market in November 2022, with a price tag of $5,000. Reports suggest there will be additional camping accessories available as well, including a heated blanket.
