There’s pattern galore at this brightly coloured Indian hotel, located in a tranquil spot 20 minutes from Jaipur.

The nine-room boutique hotel has taken over a multi-storey mansion known as a haveli, completed in the 1980s but with historic roots that go back to the Mughals. The existing home has been given a total refurb and extended to include a new pool house, veranda and garden layout.

Aside from its intricate architecture, the most striking thing about Palladio Jaipur is its use of colour. The Rajasthan hotel has been dipped in a rich palette of pink and cherry red – which appears across its facade in the form of striped columns, as well as its interiors.

Maximalist bedrooms (which start from around ₹37,000 or $450 per night) are also saturated in colour, with walls painted with birds, flowers and leaves and filled with glossy red furniture. Checkerboard floors, striped corridors and trellis-patterned walls all add to the effect, and even the sun loungers and awnings follow the colour scheme.

The palm-shaded pool awaits outside, as does Palladio Jaipur’s gardens, which are planted with fragrant jasmine and rose as well as pomegranate, hibiscus and laurel. The city is 20 minutes from the hotel.
