French start-up Carapate Adventure has released a new 990-lbs trailer whose curved edges and wooden details are inspired by a yacht.
An oversized door lifts to access the 10.5-ft-long Carapate Teardrop Trailer, which is shaped like a rounded-off trapezoid shape that puts a twist on the classic teardrop silhouette. It’s been built from marine-grade plywood, and its gallery is fitted with a stove, sink and built-in storage with sleeping space for two adults.
The trailer’s exterior shell hones the nautical theme with a blue and white colour palette, though unlike the Sealander camper – which features in our edit of the best campers for life on the open road – the Carapate model is not amphibious so you’ll have to admire any sea views from dry land.
Carapate’s camper is currently only available in Europe and starts from €14,000 for the basic model, with a tricked-out version – complete with LED lighting, built USB ports, solar charting, a fridge and custom amenities – costing up to €18,000.
