Americana is embedded in the Puglian countryside at this 1972 Airstream Overlander, which has been renovated as a couple’s retreat.
The Airstream is the baby sister of the much larger Trullo Petrarolo and Masseria del Vigneto in Monopoli and is surrounded by olive and orange groves, vineyards and woodland. From its wooden deck and outside dining area, there are views of the Adriatic Coast 6km away, with beaches within 10 minutes of the countryside hideaway, including the powdery sands of Lido Bambu.
‘I found the Airstream in North Dakota, USA, and brought it back to England to be fully renovated,’ explains owner Constant Tedder. Its iconic metal shell has been restored, while the interiors have been completely reimagined in a simple, minimalist style, complete with soft suede surfaces and wooden furniture.
The Airstream is self-catering and starts from €120 per night, with a deck and barbecue for outdoor dining, sun loungers and a small 3-metre round dipping pool to cool off.
