Fashion fans with deep pockets can live like designer Karl Lagerfeld by renting his summer home on the French Riviera.
Villa La Vigil is located close to the Monaco border, in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and the six-bedroom home sits on a promontory and has sea views from each of its rooms and a 2,500 sq ft terrace. It was built in 1902, and its name, which translates to ‘The Watch’ was used as a lookout spot by the Nazis during WWII – just one chapter in the property’s intriguing history.
The late fashion designer bought the villa in 1988 and undertook a massive renovation on the estate, living there until the late 1990s.
It is now offered for rent via Edge Retreats, an exclusive rental platform that specialises in high-end homes.
Amenities include multiple dressing rooms, manicured gardens, a billiard’s room and access to the nearby Monte-Carlo Beach Club with its private beach and Olympic-sized swimming pool.
Prices to rent the French Riviera holiday home range from €15,000 t0 €45,000 per night, at peak season, with a seven-night minimum booking.
