An abandoned sanatorium in Georgia
View this post on Instagram
Aerial view of the abandoned Sanatorium Adjara, in Georgia. From Sochi all the way down to subtropical Batumi: this Black Sea coastline was once the absolute top for holidays and tourism. Botanical gardens, luxurious Soviet architecture, elite tourism, cable rope lifts connecting beaches to hotels, spas and sanatoria, you name it. With the collapse of the Soviet Union and the independence of the splinter states, tourism dropped significantly. Add ethnic tension and war, and the downfall is inevitable. . . We stayed at a family who lived nearby this sanatorium. The lady from the house worked her entire life in this place. She showed us photos from back in the days, it was incredible to see! . . Drones are high, Georgia, 2019. . . #fromwhereidrone #georgia #caucasus #soviet #batumi #calvertjournal #architettura #archdaily #thespacesilike #atlasobscura #architecture_hunter #travel #welcometwoneverland #theoutbound #explore #thespaces_selects #ussr #urbex_rebels #natgeoyourshot #sovietheritage #urbexdrones #instadrone #aerialphotography #dronelife #discoverdrone #droneoftheday #aerial
