Studio Puisto designed this super-lightweight prefab cabin, which can be delivered to remote locations by helicopter worldwide. Space of Mind cabin can be adapted to different climates and landscapes via cladding and foundation options. The wooden hut was created in partnership with furniture company Made By Choice, with modular interiors and built-in furniture that can be switched up depending on the prefab’s use. Manuel Aires Mateus rethinks the ‘country house’ in rural Melida. This monolithic concrete structure was inspired by traditional Alentejo architecture evoking the outlines of barns and agricultural store sheds. Formerly a holiday home, it is an hour drive south of Lisbon and sits within 17 acres of olive, lemon, and orange groves. An 18-metre swimming pool with views over the surrounding landscape also sits within its grounds.
