Marlverley’s modern rustic interiors are inspired by the Arts & Crafts movement

Located in a dramatic vaulted space, this farm-to-table store and restaurant in Berkshire is a contemporary take on rustic design.

TR Studio led Malverley’s interiors, choosing natural materials, classic patterns and earthy colours to connect with the rural buildings and Arts and Crafts vernacular of the surrounding area.

Its central dining space is arranged beneath painted oak trusses, hung with fabric pendants and bunches of dried flowers. Diners sit on classic Carl Hansen chairs and are never far away from the warmth of the open brick fireplace or the meadows outside, thanks to the space’s wall of Crittall windows.

Malverley’s shop follows a similarly relaxed aesthetic, with goods displayed on wooden shelves and a central counter lit by frilled, porcelain pendants. Cafe curtains and wooden floorboards add to the feeling of being inside a traditional farmhouse kitchen.
