Rebellious architecture shows its mature side at Frankfurt property Villa Wingerten which combines bold Postmodern geometry and playful flourishes with sophisticated interiors.
The Limburg compound was constructed in 1995 and pays homage to the architecture of the era via its oversized porthole windows and its quirky roofline, which has the curvilinear forms favoured by the movement.
Living spaces are set across three levels in the 380-sq-m Frankfurt property, which has a guest floor, as well as a business annexe in addition to living spaces. They are connected by an imposing staircase, furnished with metal, cruise-liner style handrails, that climbs the height of the house.
Business facilities (including meeting rooms, a reception and kitchenette) are tucked into the annexe, offering some separation of work and play. Living spaces meanwhile have a free-flowing layout and floor-to-ceiling glass with views of the Taunus Mountains in the distance.
A soothing colour palette runs throughout the four-bedroom PoMo building, which is for sale via Fantastic Frank for €1.09m. It has been daubed in calming, 1970s-inspired such as soft, mossy greens, mustard and sandy yellows.
