We’re giving you a double dose of photography by Jonathan Anderson and Edwin Low this week because their behind-the-scenes series, On the Set of James Bond’s Spectre, is too good to miss.
The pair were granted exclusive access to some of the secret agent’s most spectacular spaces to create their large format images – set to be auctioned off tomorrow in London.
‘The project deals with a collision of fantasy and reality,’ say Anderson and Low. Their photographs capture the level of detail and artifice involved in creating the film’s elaborate Pinewood Studio sets. ‘In some images like “Old MI6 Building”, the illusion is left intact. But in others like “Palazzo, Rome”, both the lighting and the set take centre stage as the artifice is fully exposed.’
Each of the five images is unique and is expected to fetch between £7,000 and £9,000. Currently on display at Phillips London’s Berkeley Square auction house, they will go under the hammer at 2pm on 6 November. Catch them while you can…
