This aluminum built-in lamp is one of the most striking elements I have discovered this year. It is part of Parc Saint-Didier apartment building in Lyon, designed by René Gages and Gabriel Roche in 1964. #modernism #frenchmodernism #renegages #architecturehunting #thespacesilike

Bunkitsu Books in Tokyo, Japan

View this post on Instagram

Paid a visit to Bunkitsu Books – one of the first bookstores I know of that charges an entry fee. In return you get free coffee, access to over 30,000 books and magazines and get to spend an afternoon exploring this pretty amazing space (it goes much further back, up and around this photo). – Genius new business model challenging online competitors, or will people resist paying to spend their time here?

Freeman’s restaurant in New York, USA

More interior goodness at Freeman’s. Been working on a snowy video of this morning for too long, have had the urge to blurt, “I’m wearing really garish reindeer thermals under my jeans!” to strangers on the street (because it’s true), and finished all of my Christmas gift shopping ?? #prettycitynewyork
