Is it weird to have buildings on your bucket list? I've been longing to see this place for over a decade now. This is the view of a spiral roadway inside a former 1920s car plant. This avant-garde building was once the largest car factory in the world and is considered to be a pioneering work in industrial concrete construction. Its size was unprecedented. Manufacturing of cars briefly halted during WW2 as it was heavily bombed and damaged. It was rebuilt and fully operational for many more decades, until business was finally halted in the early eighties. Reconversion followed. There are two identical spiral roadways inside this plant. Stuck at home with a sore throat and fever, I’m sharing some other memories from another trip to Loire valley. This is the interior of Château du Lude we discovered by chance ❤️ It’s one of the prettiest I saw and it’s still inhabited by its owners! Such a curious thing to walk in these interiors noticing some signs of life and habits of its proprietors : a burning fireplace, some newspapers and books left on the table and photos of their children and family on walls ?
