Newly opened in the city’s San Lorenzo neighbourhood – and the group’s first outpost in Italy – Soho House Rome offers an effortlessly Italian atmosphere.
Members can soak up the city views from the balconies that wrap around the building’s facade or retreat to one of the many deep sofas or tub chairs that dot the communal spaces of its clubhouse lounge.
Soho House’s in-house design team has delivered Italian style in spades, with exaggerated shapes, glossy furniture and a cool colour palette that runs the gamut from burgundy and sage through to mustard yellow and rich royal blue. There’s a few maximalist flirtations too via eye-catching pops of pattern in curved banquettes upholstered in busy textiles, and a wall mural of faces and hands in clashing colours.
Members can pick up a snack from the ground-floor deli bar, before heading to one of the building’s 49 bedrooms, or 20 long-stay apartments. As you’d expect from Soho House, the best views of Rome are from its roof terrace, which has a signature pool and, naturally, a pizza oven.
