Postmodern NJ house by Gwathmey Siegel asks $5m

New York practice Gwathmey Siegel Kaufman renovated the Guggenheim Museum, and you can see the resemblance with this 14,000-square-foot modern showpiece they designed on nearly 16 private acres in Harding Township.

The postmodern New Jersey property’s vaulted spaces peer onto a bucolic landscape, surrounded by protected countryside, through tall Bauhaus-style windows. A glass atrium throws natural light around the communal areas and industrial-style kitchen, while upstairs are a few of the nine bathrooms and seven bedrooms accessed by a circular staircase.

Sotheby’s International is listing the New Jersey estate for $4.975m. It comes with an interior tennis court, basketball court, sauna and full gym, open to the outdoor pool and a separate guest apartment.
