Adelaide’s Part Time Lover bistro enfolds diners in a bright, open space with Carlo Scarpa-inspired geometry.
Local practice Sans-Arc Studio designed the restaurant, which is housed in a timber-panelled pavilion on Adelaide’s Pilgrim Lane. A long tiled bar and line of banquette seating make the most of the restaurant’s walls of windows, while globe-shaped pendant lights add a soft glow at night.
The geometric shapes continue elsewhere, in the bar’s curved counter, arches, and suspended plant pots. Slate flooring, brown terrazzo, caramel leather and white concrete add to Part Time Lover’s muted yet warm palette. Sans-Arc describes the bistro as ‘a warm, bright moment tucked away in a quiet, central spot.’
And the menu is plenty to please plant and meat-eaters alike, with twice-cooked sticky eggplant and fried corn ribs for the veggies, and cardamom-spiced wagyu rump for the carnivores.
