Ibiza’s The Standard exudes an air of relaxed elegance

The bright white exterior of this Ibiza hotel doesn’t give much away, but behind its wooden shutters lies a set of party-ready rooms that feel entirely in keeping with the island’s reputation.

Oskar Kohnen Studio designed the interiors, creating a minimal aesthetic that’s punctuated by standout pieces and plenty of tropical greenery. Rooms make the most of Ibiza’s sundrenched days with muted palettes that reflect the light, and long, breezy curtains to draw at noon.

Guest rooms are purposefully stripped back, decked out with only the absolute necessities of furniture. Oskar Kuhnen Studio’s choice of materials elevates the experience all the same, with leather, cool white marble and hessian rugs adding some texture to the space.

Breakfast and dinner is taken from the leaf-patterned dining sofas of the hotel’s Jara restaurant, accompanied by its cast of potted palms. Ibiza Town awaits outside, but the hotel also has its own programme of events hosted on the rooftop terrace, including DJs, bingo and weekly backgammon and chess nights. Rooms start at £206 per night.
