It might be located in the heart of London’s West End, but this Mayfair restaurant couldn’t feel more like a seaside Aegean escape if it tried.
Everything about Gaia, from its menu to its interiors, has been chosen to evoke the sunny Greek isles.
Sun-drenched shelves are filled with clay amphora and miniature sculptures, and tables are laid with handcrafted glassware and pottery – chosen to evoke the sea.
That beachy feel is emphasised by whitewashed walls, ceilings striped in blue, and azure-coloured dining furniture.
Guests can order a Santorini spritz and a tyropita before selecting something straight from the fresh fish counter – which can be grilled, baked, fried or cooked in a salt crust in classic Greek style.
