Diners are enveloped in lush gardens at São Paulo restaurant Origem 75

From the earth to plate

Giant palms and waving grasses help guests reconnect with nature at this organic restaurant in São Paulo’s Vinhedo neighbourhood.

Sprawling gardens are the centrepiece of Origem 75 with individual dining rooms set beneath pergolas and surrounded by trees and plants.

Landscape architecture practice Alexandre Furcolin Paisagismo oversaw the outdoor space, installing stone floors and wooden decking that leaves room for the vast trunks of palm trees to grow upwards. Origem 75’s design is part garden and part farm, with the restaurant using it to grow and harvest seasonal produce for its vegetable-heavy menu.

As well as designing the planting, AFP created a striking entrance to Origem 75 covered with natural fibres. The practice describes the restaurant’s design as ‘seeking to reconcile the human use of spaces with the natural qualities that the land offers.’
