For one night only guests can spend the night at Antoni Gaudí’s iconic Casa Vicens, which will open its doors to Airbnb guests for an exclusive stay.
The architectural jewel is Gaudí’’s earliest residence in Barcelona, constructed in the 1880s mixing Arabic and Hispanic influences across its richly tiled interiors and facade. Casa Vicens was built with rough red bricks, coloured floral ceramic tiles and checkerboard patterns – a decorative style that Gaudí would revisit again and again in his projects, putting Catalan modernism on the map.
Casa Vicens was a private home for most of its 136 years but it has recently been turned into a house museum and will be listed on Airbnb for one night. Guests will be hosted by one of the people responsible for the building’s conversion, and get an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the house, followed by a Gaudí-inspired Michelin star dinner in the dining room.
The highlight is spending the night in the Vicens family master bedroom – an interior jewel decorated in peak Gaudí style.
Bookings open on 12 July 2021 at 4 pm CEST for two guests. COVID-19 regulations must be followed and guests must be from the same household.
See Airbnb for more on the stay, and find out about the building’s restoration.
