Acclaimed East London gallery Paradise Row launched a one-year residency in Mayfair this week as Paradise Row Projects, a not-for-profit curatorial venture raising awareness for critical social issues affecting artists and their environments.

The vibrant space – the debut project by Japanese practice GOLEM – opened with a group exhibition called Hawala, exploring the relationship between blockchain technology and hawala, the South Asian money-transfer network. The digital and physical works are presented as a single NFT, and any proceeds from the show will go to Covid-19 relief in India and Pakistan.

A second show of contemporary Indigenous art from Brazil launches 4 November. The programme culminates next summer with a group project showcasing the best emerging galleries in London.
