Muscle-car fans will want to peek under the hook of this modified 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 5-Speed, which has been refurbished in the style of a GT350 and used for open track events in California.
Powering the vehicle is a 363ci Windsor V8 fitted with World Products iron cylinder heads, a Scat forged internal reciprocating assembly, Bullet solid-lifter cam, MSD ignition, and a Holley 650-Cfm carburettor on an Edelbrock manifold.
The classic California car is being auctioned online via Bring A Trailer – bids close on 18 August 2021. It’s finished in blue with white stripes and a sleek white vinyl interior, with a three-spoke Moto-Lita steering wheel wrapped in leather. The backseats, radio and heater have been removed for the track, and a roll bar and Kirkey racing seats with harness added by the owner.
The body is detailed with a GT350-style apron, pins and louvred quarter vents, and side scoops. Wheels have been upgraded to 15″ Torq Thrust-style alloy wheels with racing tires (a spare set is included, among other parts).
