Via Scenic Caves Nature Adventures

Those with a head for heights and a love of the great outdoors can experience a new thrill this winter by snowshoeing across a 420-ft-long suspension bridge in Ontario.

The Canadian province’s longest suspension footbridge is located at Scenic Caves Nature Adventures in Collingwood and offers intrepid adventurers views of the Georgian Bay, the Penetanguishene Peninsula and Blue Mountain.

The bridge is suspended 82-ft above the ground and passes over the tops of the forest canopy below. The trail is among a cache of snowshoeing and cross-country skiing routes through the park, organised by levels of difficulty. Trail passes cost just $24 – and with much of the province’s cities subject to COVID-19 restrictions throughout January 2022, it’s an opportunity to get fresh air and exercise amid beautiful surroundings.
