Boano Prišmontas’ plywood office pod is designed to turn WFH into WFG, with a footprint small enough to squeeze into most British backyards.
Named My Room in the Garden, the tiny office can be assembled and installed in a day, and at 2.5-metres-high, its owners don’t need to worry about obtaining planning permission.
The hut is made from birch plywood wrapped in corrugated polycarbonate to make sure workers get plenty of natural light while in the office. Interiors come with built-in shelves and a desk but can be customised with different finishes such as pegboard or mirrors.
For the colder months, the affordable prefab pod can also be ordered with insulation – although this will set buyers back more than the £5,000 basic model. According to studio Boano Prišmontas, every piece of the pod is designed to reduce waste, and its modular design means several of them can also be connected.
