This Mallorcan bungalow is even sweeter on the inside

It was designed by the Swedish practice Dusty Deco

Mediterranean light is the protagonist at Casa Coral, a 122sqm townhouse in the historic centre of Porto Cristo, on the east coast of Mallorca. Designed by Lina Kjellvertz of the Swedish practice Dusty Deco, it has soaring 5.4m ceilings, giving the interiors an uplifting sense of height. Materials anchor the home to its Mallorcan context — original hydraulic tiles, exposed beams, a sculptural stone washbasin and a palette that favours gentle, natural tones. The 20sqm patio pulls air and daylight through the plan.

The ground floor brings the kitchen, dining and living area into a single, airy sequence where an open fireplace forms the room’s centre. Three bedrooms and a bright bathroom open directly to the patio, while one bedroom incorporates a sleeping loft that increases capacity to four double beds. A 10sqm roof terrace offers a quiet lookout above the old town, and a small garage currently serves as storage.

Outdoor cooking is integrated into the patio’s layout with a BBQ zone that links back to the kitchen. Located three minutes from the sea, Casa Coral distils the ease of its coastal setting into a compact architectural composition. It’s listed at €540,000 via Fantastic Frank Palma.
