BCN | La Casa Macaya _ this courtyard is a space of beauty and quiet in the Eixample. Built as part of an urban residence in 1901, its architect Joseph Puigdemont i Caldefach (a Modernista, like his contemporary Gaudi) used gothic elements and ornamentation in the design and walking up those stairs is like travelling back into two different centuries at the same time.
