Stay in an ancient Tuscan villa reimagined as a private resort

Less than 10 miles from the Tuscan coast, Villa Giannella comes with its own Turkish hammam, gym, infinity pool, dedicated chef, housekeeper and gardener. But it also comes with the ultimate first-world problem: how to take advantage of the resort-like amenities and spectacularly private hill-top location and still enjoy the surrounding countryside?

Interested parties could ask the allocated concierge for help maximising the house’s assets while leaving time to discover the vineyards, restaurants, and the medieval city of Magliano Di Toscana nearby. Still, there’s no pressure. The former nun’s cloister, with parts dating back 800 years, will never get boring. Its social areas are decorated with unique and fascinating art. The view alone is enough to keep one occupied for hours.

Two families can sleep extremely comfortably in the villa’s seven bedrooms, amid bare stone walls, bricked arches and classical columns. There are singles, doubles and two king rooms, each with its own ensuite behind aged oak doors. The private spaces spread across the property into the guest lodges.

One Fine Stay, a purveyor of short-term luxury lets, lists the Tuscan holiday home as a whole from €12,857 per night.
