There are three types of people in this world: those who love Paris‘ Palais Garnier for its fabulously Baroque interior, those who love it as the setting for The Phantom of the Opera, and those who are fans of both. For the latter, the famous opera house commissioned by Napoleon III has transformed its exclusive Box of Honour into a majestic suite for a single summer night.

For one-night only – 16 July 2023 – two guests can sleep in a rarely seen chamber overlooking the stage. The ornate queen bed, adorned with gilded headboard and damask bedding, is located just behind the best seats in the house. A private bath is available with the booking. The cost? Only 37 euros, plus tax.

Along with the privilege of spending the night, the guests will have a private tour of the Palais’ restricted rooms, including the archives, rooftop and famous underground lake featured in Gaston Leroux’s novel. They’ll move on to a ballet lesson with a professional dancer from the Opera de Paris Ballet, a performance by the Paris Opera Academy and dinner in the lavish dance-rehearsal room behind the stage.

Booking opens on 1 March through Airbnb.
