Fans of iconic TV show The Simpsons can now make a pilgrimage to a real-life Kwik-E-Mart which has sprung up in North Carolina.

The convenience store – owned by Apu Nahasapeemapetilon in the long-running animated show – has been built in the town of Myrtle Beach, and opened for business on Friday.

Its fridges are stocked with Homer Simpson’s favourite goodies, including Duff Beer and Lard Lad Donuts while customers can also get their fill from Buzz Cola and Squishee fountains. Merch from the show is also for sale inside the replica haunt.

The Kwik-E-Mart is the brainchild of SimEx-Iwerks Entertainment in partnership with FoxNext Destinations and Gracie Films, and the store will eventually serve as the exit for the upcoming Aztec Theatre – also recreated from the show.
