Restored modernist bolthole by Albert Martin lists for $5.1m in LA

A 1952 Albert Martin home that’s rumoured to belong to comedian Kristen Wiig has hit the market in Los Angeles’ Silverlake following a top-to-toe refurb by Taalman Architecture.

The three-bedroom midcentury property is on the market for $5.1m via George Penner of Deasy/Penner, and has been completely restored by the practice and multi-disciplinary LA design studio The Archers.

They have retained the 3,515 sq ft Los Angeles property’s original floor plan and polished its existing modernist features, including stone fireplace, cedar walls, painted tiles and floor-to-ceiling glass windows which peek out towards the reservoir.

The Martin residence has also been expanded by the Bridesmaids writer and star. Wiig has added a screening room to the hillside pad, a new pool house and ‘multi-purpose space’ with studio and sauna, and an ‘expansive guest property’ for visitors.
