Don’t be fooled by this Cornish property’s modest moniker… Little Cottage is a holiday home of grand proportions.

Architecture practice Michaelis Boyd – designers of Soho House Berlin and the upcoming apartments at Battersea Power Station – created the four-bedroom villa from the bones of a derelict property that gave the house its name.

From the outside, the Penzance building’s crisp geometric form recalls Le Corbusier’s famous Villa Savoye, while its white walls are topped with green flat roofs.

Stretching over two floors, the modern architecture rental’s lower level comprises an open-plan living room and Bulthaup-fitted kitchen, whose glass doors open to outdoors and offer views of the sea.

Upstairs has four bedrooms, sleeping up to eight people.

Port-hole windows puncture the outside walls, framing views of the nearby private beach – a prize spot for surfing and boogie boarding (guests can borrow boards for the latter).
