Architect Greg Faulkner’s home near San Francisco is for sale

With covetable interiors – and far reaching views

Corten steel and redwood combine at the award-winning Californian home of architect Greg Faulkner, which beds into its hillside setting.

The 5,135 sq ft property sits 20 miles outside of San Francisco in the Upper Happy Valley neighbourhood of Lafayette and is set across three levels. Faulkner’s taken inspirations from the rugged surrounds to craft its interiors: walnut slats have been used throughout the main living spaces, contrasting textured concrete floors and walls.

The architect’s home scooped the AIA Merit Award in 2013 now on the market for $4.895m by Stella Tskonas of Pacific Union.

Large windows frame views of Mount Diablo in the distance, while clerestory windows have been used in ‘transitional spaces’ such as the landings and staircase to draw light into the interior.
