This Brooklyn loft had a sweet start to life as a bakery.
Local entrepreneur Sophia Zablowski used to make her popular Polish babka cakes in the 1915 red-brick building in Williamsburg.
Just over a century later in 2007 it was converted into 11 apartments.
The Sophia Lofts haven’t just retained the baker’s moniker – the building’s facade has been meticulously restored, while inside, original timber beams, steel doors and exposed brick walls have all been kept.
On the market via Charles Rutenberg LLC for $1.43m, this one-bedroom apartment is split over two levels, and makes the most of its ingredients. A soaring double-height crowns the open-plan living room and kitchen, while the master bedroom is tucked one floor beneath.
At 1,257 sq ft, the property also comes with access to a rooftop garden, which looks over Manhattan.
