The architectural designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán has put together an Amalfi-inspired dining room for the new bistro La Baia, in Paris‘s 8th arrondissement. The ‘Dolce Vita’ interior features tactile upholsteries in sunset colours recalling Mediterranean evenings. Hand-painted ceramics, soft lighting and a soundtrack of Italian crooners contribute to the ‘endless summer’ vibe.

Rosa-Violán’s decoration is appropriately soignée for its Golden Triangle address. And the menu is suitably sophisticated. Chef Stefano Tortelli, a Gordon Ramsay alum, will showcase southern seafood like Langouste lobster, jumbo tiger prawns and Gillardeau oysters with Amalfi-lemon sauces, caviar, crab ravioli, artisanal pizzas and pastas. And a crudo bar will start things off. Tortelli has enlisted a dessert chef to prepare regional specialities like gelato Ferrero Rocher, traditional pistachio tiramisu and Delizia Limone d’Amalfi.

The restaurant opens September 25th on Avenue Montaigne in Paris.
