This Notting Hill rental strikes a balance between industrial and organic

White-washed with exposed brick, soaring beams and arched windows

London’s Portobello Road is home to one of the world’s most famous antique markets, attracting over 100,000 people every weekend. This light-filled industrial loft is a sanctuary away the crowds, a quiet haven with lofty ceilings, painted brickwork, and huge arched windows.

For rent exclusively as a short let via Domus Nova for £2,500 per week, the two-bedroom Notting Hill  mews is close to all the action but is located down a private gated mews with an on-site porter until 4 pm. (The property also comes with a private covered parking space.)

Its L-shaped interior is 886 sq ft and centres around the double-height reception room, with exposed brick and painted black beams overhead, which jibe with the frames of the large, double-arched windows.

The furniture is modern and organic: acacia dining chairs with woven seats, a plump armchair with a dark walnut frame, and a floating midcentury-style shelving unit in white that heightens the London rental’s soft industrial vibe.

Two bedrooms are located on the upper level of the mews, and here, you get a better view of the steel beams, which feature in both spaces. Like the downstairs, these private spaces are minimalist and white-washed, with timber accents.

Work-from-home needs are covered on the mezzanine, which is accessed by a ladder from the second bedroom. It offers a snug space to work—or perhaps a cosy snug.
