My Oh My Espresso brings a slice of Parisian coffee culture to Melbourne

Interiors by We Are Humble celebrate volume and colour

The classic European cafe gets an update at Melbourne’s My Oh My Espresso, where swooping archways and deep burgundy tones recall the coffee shops of Paris.

Practice We Are Humble designed the cafe inside a historic Richmond building with a handsome Romantic exterior. The dining room has built in-banquets and restored archways that frame views through the space and create intimate nooks within the cafe – a change of pace for bustling Swan Street.

At the front of the new dining room is Five Bounds – a retail venture within the space that uses plinths and tables to display its goods.

Tall painted timber ceilings and lighting rigs continue the burgundy colour palette, offset by crisp white walls and alcoves that look almost marble-like, thanks to their paint and colour treatment. Above, rope lighting drapes loosely from a brass fixture, highlighting the volume of the space and its fluid flexibility.

The outdoor patio has also been spruced with the historic decorative timberwork enlivened with a pop of teal.
