A glass house by Harvard Five architect Eliot Noyes has just listed in Connecticut’s New Canaan for $2.75m.
Number 90 Lambert Road is on the market for the first time since it was built in 1956, via Alice Jennings and Amanda Briggs of Houlihan Lawrence. Spanning 3,692 sq ft, the midcentury property is set across a single level.
Its rooms feature floor-to-ceiling glass walls overlooking the Modernist home’s 4.6-acre grounds. A skylit hallway leads into the sweeping living room and separate kitchen, complete with original cabinetry.
There are period features aplenty across the flat-roofed dwelling, including brick fireplaces, stone tile floors, painted brickwork and cabinetry. Internal timber-panelled walls have been given a lick of white paint to exaggerate the feeling of light inside the house.
As well as landscaped grounds, a separate artist’s studio and a swimming pool are included in the sale.
