Basketball legend Michael Jordan has turned to the power of YouTube in the hope of finding a buyer for his $14.85 million estate – on the market since 2012.
The former Chicago Bulls player is producing a series of tongue-in-cheek marketing videos – which play out more like motivational speeches – for his 56,000 sq ft property in Highland Park, Illinois.
‘Some opportunities only come once in a lifetime – this is one of them,’ he says in the first of six videos.
‘How many times have you heard he’s the Michael Jordan of this, she’s the Michael Jordan of that? Well, this is the Michael Jordan of homes because this is Michael Jordan’s home.’
The series, of which four videos are still to be released, provides a virtual tour of the nine-bedroom residence, which comes with a gym, pool, putting green and, of course, a basketball court.
Traces of Jordan – in the form of his favourite number, 23, or his trademarked ‘Jumpman’ logo – are found in every nook and cranny.
‘Only one person will own a piece of history. Only one person will be able to say, “I just bought Michael Jordan’s house.” Start your legend,’ he adds in the first video.
The property is on sale via listing agent Kofi Nartey of The Agency.
