Industrial design sets this Lisbon apartment apart from its neighbours

Industrial design energises the interior of this Lisbon property, which was renovated by the Portuguese firm NN Architecture in Amoreiras.

Amoreiras is known for its high-end stores, restaurants, and exclusive residential developments, but architect Nuno Nascimento drew inspiration from the area’s industrial heritage when designing the interior scheme for this three-bedroom apartment. He merged two units to create a spacious 135 sq m layout and drew influence from surrounding 20th-century architecture to shape its raw aesthetic.

Exposed steel beams and poured concrete floors feature prominently throughout the property. Rooms boast high ceilings and are furnished with bespoke storage. Stainless steel elements are also present throughout, notably in the kitchen (think appliances, hardware, and countertops) and in the living room, where stainless steel shelves act as room dividers.

The restrained industrial palette takes a playful turn in the bathrooms, where vivid vermillion tiles inject energy and colour into the design.

Número 6 is listed with Fantastic Frank Lisbon for €810,000. This Lisbon property includes a large, private outdoor space and two communal outdoor areas – a spacious terrace and a patio at the entrance.

Amoreiras is close to central Lisbon for an easy commute. The area also offers a variety of sports clubs and facilities – including Club 7, with its tennis courts, paddle courts, a pool, sauna, and private gym – and the city’s top public and private schools and Campo de Ourique are all on the doorstep.
