Costa Rica’s Talamanca mountains were the inspiration for this prefab home, which has a flexible footprint that allows it to adapt to rough terrain.

The Kabëk cabin by Úbáli has a sloping roof and bank of windows that bring light into an open-plan living space. It comes with a bathroom, one or two bedrooms, and a small front terrace.

The prefab sits on reinforced concrete foundations and has a double layer of fibreglass insulation to protect it against the sun. Kabëk is delivered with an electrical system, ready to be connected, and raised on supports if the ground is uneven.

Úbáli is also acting as the developer on the project, helping buyers find a lot in Costa Rica. It also has a team of engineers, architects and designers in-house and can accommodate custom builds.

International delivery is available, with prices on request. But would-be owners can do a ‘try-before-you-buy’ recce and book a two-night trial of a Kabëk located in Puntarenas Province via Airbnb from £75 per night.
