Millennial pink, plants, terrazzo… Madrid coworking space and studio Espacio Nueva Carolina was made for the Instagram age.
Designed by Cordero Atelier – whose Sara Uriarte set the space up with local photo studio Antárctica – the 425 sq m space blends Art Deco elements with 1950s-style furniture.
Pink velvet couches sit atop iridescent bases, and rattan light shades and tables are scattered around the building. The space includes offices and meeting rooms, as well as adaptable spaces for photo shoots and exhibitions.
The kitchen is decked out in a very of-the-moment terrazzo pattern, contrasted by blue velvet seating and drapes, while elsewhere there are flashes of the ever-popular millennial pink on doors, lights and seating.
Cordero Atelier created art pieces and brass sculptures inspired by 1950s Californian hotels, and dressed the space with an abundance of greenery. Local practice Light & Studio has also designed a series of bespoke lamps, including globe-shaped wall lights held on metal loops.
