In the Gavarres massif, a protected landscape of rolling forested hills south of Girona, this 15th-century farmhouse has been sensitively restored to balance rural authenticity with contemporary refinement. Set on 5.2 hectares near the village of Quart, the 1,152sqm estate sits amid olive groves and stone terraces, its thick masonry walls and vaulted ceilings recalling centuries of Catalan craftsmanship. It’s currently on the market with Masvell House for €3.4 million.

The main 689sqm residence opens with an arched doorway into a sequence of light-filled rooms lined in stone and polished concrete. Oak floors lead upstairs to an open-plan living and dining area anchored by a bespoke kitchen and south-facing windows framing the massif. Seven en suite bedrooms occupy the upper floors, and a separate ground-floor apartment offers three more bedrooms and direct access to the pool terrace.

Across the grounds, landscaped gardens and an organic orchard connect the home to its natural setting. A walled terrace links the main house and guest quarters to the swimming pool, and an outdoor kitchen designed to serve long Mediterranean summers. Solar panels, underfloor heating and a private well complete the renovation.
