Helsinki’s Bardem cocktail bar channels moody Nordic noir vibes

Glossy tiles and deep banquettes add a decadent feel to this dimly lit ‘speakeasy’ bar in Helsinki.

Local studio Fyra designed the interiors for Bar Bardem, decking the space out in an inky blue palette that’s offset by a glowing, pale timber bar. Guests sit at steel and velvet stools, or on a mossy green sofa which wraps around the bar, and rest their drinks on terrazzo-topped tables.

As well as a tiled wall, which creates a blue-to-green gradient and a sense of geometric rhythm, the Helsinki bar is filled with feathers and dried flowers. They appear in vases, as well as pressed behind glass to form huge wall pieces.

Bardem is located on the city’s Yliopistonkatu street and serves a list of classic cocktails as well as alcohol-free options.
